Dear Professor Ekkehart

Thanks for your mail.

I think the key is to keep some regularity in assisting the authors.

In my case I felt quite comfortable doing this work. An balanced distribution of editorial work will always depend on maintaining a level of commitment to MPRA.

Receive many greetings

Dear all,

in the meanwhile I have disburdened some English editors who were not very active (Jan Weiland, Supachet Chasarn, and Nadeem Naqvi). We have placed a request for new volunteers on our main page. I have received three applications so far.

It occurs to me that work is distributed somewhat unevenly. Maybe we find a way to rectify that. Any suggestions and recommendations regarding the number of additional editors we should take, or our conventions and procedures?

Alex has suggested the following:
"The number of submissions varies in wide limits.
One of our tasks is to lessen the time of editing for each author, even at very large numbers of submissions.
It is not easy to edit more than 10-15 submissions at once.

So, we may additionally ask editors:

1) to check the review not more than every 3-4 days (twice a week).

2) to perform their weekly norm (or a bit more) at once if they see
a more than 2-3 day editing delay
or a queue of more than 15-20 submissions."

What do you think?

Thank you all for your good work!

Ekkehart
