Sune and all,

I am sorry, this is partially my fault. I wrote an email about that back in November 2011 to RePEc-run, but it had not reached anyone (since my email address was not subscribed). And I didn't realize it had not reached anyone.

It is difficult to ensure now that all the person templates are displaying affiliations consistently. It would mean regenerate the templates for everyone, which is slow and expensive in CPU time.

We can remove the arrows in the Workplace-Name.

I am not entierly happy about the way this is done. It would have been good with some advance notice before an incompatible change is made to ReDIF.

While the changes to RAS has been discussed (I believe only on RAS-RUN) I can find no discussion of the changes to ReDIF.

To make things worse we now have two different file formats in play at the same time. When will the conversion to the new format be complete?

I don't like the arrows in Workplace-Name.

/Sune

Sorry, the higher-share affiliation would come first, actually. So, it
may rather be like this after the upgrade:

Workplace-Name: Belarusian State University
→ Faculty of Economics
Workplace-Institution: RePEc:edi:febsuby
Workplace-Share: 70
Workplace-Name: Independent Institute of Socio-Economic & Political
Studies (IISEPS)
Workplace-Institution: RePEc:edi:iisepby
Workplace-Share: 30

I have been reviewing past mail from myself, trying to find if i
have warned you, guys, about a change in person templates that is
going to happen. And I can't find it, so maybe it is just in my head.

The affiliation data in the template may look like this:

   Workplace-Organization: RePEc:edi:febsuby
   Workplace-Organization: RePEc:edi:iisepby

But after the forthcomming upgrade, it would soon start looking as:

   Workplace-Name: Belarusian State University
   → Faculty of Economics
   Workplace-Institution: RePEc:edi:febsuby
   Workplace-Share: 30
   Workplace-Name: Independent Institute of Socio-Economic & Political
   Studies (IISEPS)
   Workplace-Institution: RePEc:edi:iisepby
   Workplace-Share: 70

This is a change that may require adaptation on your side.

Every ReDIF template generated after the upgrade will be formatted
in the new way. Please let us know if this is a serious issue and if
   we should postpone the upgrade.
