What really got us into trouble at raneb was to keep non-backup data in an lvm. Now that we have a bigger root disk at raneb, I want to keep /home there. Still that means deleting some users from raneb and move them. zimm and rasarchive are currently being moved to wotan.liu.edu. You should be able to login to these accounts there with the previous passwords, please check. Copying the files is in progress. User mccarchive has been moved to fafner. It turns out that zimm is already 15G and now takes much of the space on wotan's home. There is no hope of storing rasarchive on wotan's home and zimm will have to leave there, until I can build a bigger root disk for wotan when I get back to LIU in September. I will also go to wustl in the autumn to give raneb a bigger root disk. Christian get that disk space put on nebka asap. You are creating a considerable amount of trouble for me spending time to accomodate you. Go to the shop, buy that disk for $150, get that usb box, hook it up to ideas, and then give us the disk that is now in ideas and that is destined to go into nebka. I will not provide further support for nebka until this is done. I will move rasarchive to sahure, but it can't stay there for long. BTW, user zimm wolud have gone if I had not been able to restore the data on raneb. Cheers, Thomas Krichel http://openlib.org/home/krichel RePEc:per:1965-06-05:thomas_krichel skype: thomaskrichel
The other potential solution is for Bob to make one of the 500G disk that I bought the root disk, if he can repeat the trick to replace the disk like he did when he update the 20G to the 80G. I understand that will keep the current partitioning, but this is something we can live with until I build a completely new root disk in the autumn. The current /home par could become /var. The move of the files in /var into that partition should be done in the maintainance operation mode. If Bob is willing to do this fine. I am still moving the rasarchive to sahure, in order to be able to press on with other reorganization work on the files, to be able to start to use raneb as a backup machine. I am not happy with this continued bending over backwards orgy. Cheers, Thomas Krichel http://openlib.org/home/krichel RePEc:per:1965-06-05:thomas_krichel skype: thomaskrichel

Tentatively scheduled for Monday. The new IDEAS server is now built. We just need to transfer /home (I hope). The actual installation is a bit complex, as we move from 1U to 2U in the rack, and we need to move other servers, including nebka. I also have a big recruiting day Monday (last candidate, committee meeting, and I am heading the commitee...). So it may get postponed. But by Tuesday or Wednesday, you should be happy.
I will not provide further support for nebka until this is done.
