Should this be done automatically at boot up, or is there some risk? On Fri, 21 Aug 2009, Ivan Kurmanov wrote:

I installed a longn time ago startup file I wrote myself nebka:~# ls -l /etc/init.d/rid -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4900 2008-03-24 22:13 /etc/init.d/rid nebka:~# /etc/init.d/rid stop Stopping ACIS indexing daemon: ridKilling control_daemon with pid 8211 . nebka:~# /etc/init.d/rid start Starting ACIS indexing daemon: ridgoing to start RI daemon (/home/aras/acis/bin/control_daemon.pl) done . nebka:~# update-rc.d rid defaults System startup links for /etc/init.d/rid already exist. It should work. Cheers, Thomas Krichel http://openlib.org/home/krichel RePEc:per:1965-06-05:thomas_krichel skype: thomaskrichel
