Re: [RAS] Fwd: questions about authors.repec.org

Thomas,
Dan asks about some mirrored directories on nebka.
Dan,
I understand it that that /opt/snefru/ comes from the snefru server, and the /opt/mutabor/ comes from the mutabor server. Full names are snefru.openlib.org and mutabor.openlib.org. But I'm not managing those servers: Thomas does. I'm asking Thomas to verify and respond.

Where does the data come from in the following directories? /opt/mutabor/home/adnetec /opt/snefru/home/adrepec
In /etc/crontab, I see where some of the data is coming from: rsync -va adnetec@citec.repec.org:RePEc/zzz/cites/ /opt/mutabor/home/adnetec/RePEc/zzz/cites
But I don't know where the rest comes from. Any ideas?
the other comes from the adrepec account at snefru, but I don't know how, I think nebka fetches it, for securiy reasons, since we don't have acess to the machine. Cheers, Thomas Krichel http://openlib.org/home/krichel http://authorprofile.org/pkr1 skype: thomaskrichel
Note that we show be taking the metadata (except CitEc) from IDEAS, as it is local. Not sure it is happening. On Fri, 28 Sep 2012, Thomas Krichel wrote:

I don't think snefru exports it. So I think the snefru directory can be deleted, but it better to check, looking for recent files there. Cheers, Thomas Krichel http://openlib.org/home/krichel http://authorprofile.org/pkr1 skype: thomaskrichel
/opt/snefru/home/adrepec/RePEc/remo/wlu/index.html -- last accessed Sep 27 19:59. So it looks like its being used? On Fri, Sep 28, 2012 at 8:05 AM, Thomas Krichel <krichel@openlib.org> wrote:

Yes, so this is when ReDIF data comes in. But you may not use this sourrce. Cheers, Thomas Krichel http://openlib.org/home/krichel http://authorprofile.org/pkr1 skype: thomaskrichel
I believe that the metadata used is /home/adrepec/RePEc/remo. /opt/snefru may only be a symbolic link to that, or vice versa. Where the data should be taken from is /home/ftp/pub/RePEc/remo on the IDEAS machine. It is already doing all the mirroring work, no need to take it from elsewhere. The question is only which place does ACIS take its data from, and which cron jobs are running or should be running. Simplify, simplify, simplify. On Fri, 28 Sep 2012, Dan Hayes wrote:

I don't think I am pushing anything, but let me know if I do. Cheers, Thomas Krichel http://openlib.org/home/krichel http://authorprofile.org/pkr1 skype: thomaskrichel
