It turns out the complainant was using the wrong URL for some reason, but the one in my emails was correct. I did not notice they were different. Sorry for the trouble, I should have noticed. I think Thomas is absolutely right. The URL you used it wrong.

is correct. If I told you to use that a while back -- it was a mistake.

Well, this is what Ivan told me to use way back, and it worked at least initially. So something changed in the meanwhile. But I will amend the email templates and all will be fine.

addendum: after this "failed" attempt, if you click on "home", there is a link stating that you are logged in, and indeed you are.
Yes, I was very surprised, and I have been able to reproduce the bug. However, what you submit here is not a valid URL, I think. To be valid has to be local_part?param1=value1¶m2=value2 etc Here, your local part is "login", and then you submit a parameter name, not a value for it. I suspect we could rewrite the URL with mod_rewrite to make it acceptable, but I doubt this is good practice.

should work as expected.
http://authors.repec.org/?login=krichel@openlib.org
works for me.

Hey man, no worries. It took me three hours to figure that one out. Then I had a reason to open a new bottle. Cheers, Thomas Krichel http://openlib.org/home/krichel RePEc:per:1965-06-05:thomas_krichel skype: thomaskrichel
