I am not entierly happy about the way this is done. It would have been good with some advance notice before an incompatible change is made to ReDIF. While the changes to RAS has been discussed (I believe only on RAS-RUN) I can find no discussion of the changes to ReDIF. Yes, but I don't want to code for two different versions unless I absolutely have to. So when will the change-over to the new format be complete? Also, will the Workplace-Name be updated if the EDIRC data for Workplace-Institution is updated? /Sune

Christian, If I understand it right, Sune asks for consistency in the person templates. In this case it means to convert all the person templates to this form: Workplace-Name: Belarusian State University Faculty of Economics Workplace-Institution: RePEc:edi:febsuby Workplace-Name: Independent Institute of Socio-Economic & Political Studies (IISEPS) Workplace-Institution: RePEc:edi:iisepby (with optional Workplace-Share) Sune, is this correct? (with optional Workplace-Share)
Sune, is this correct?
Right on! Now that the deed is done we should go with the new syntax which I have nothing against as such. Except that this introduces some ambiguity with respect to Workplace-Name. This is now defined in two places, the other being the EDIRC institution template that is also pointed to. Which is the authorotative source? /Sune
If yes, then this shouldn't require Christian to do any reversal work.

My time is scarce but not as expensive as I'd like. Never the less, it would be really good to have the templates regenerated. Fixing the bugs in the system must, of course, have priority. But after that, please!
There are competing interests. I have adapted my code and would have to readapt for a reversal (one cannot completely roll back, as the workplace shares and deceased fields are new anyway).

I suggest to consider the EDIRC institution template as the authoritative source for institution names. -i
